Record-Journal & Myrecordjournal.com twitter background design

Here is what we came up with for our Record-Journal twitter page.

The main color is our Record-Journal Red, blended with the blue of our MYRJ logo and black which represent the ink of a newspaper. We took our illustration of our building, located in the heart of downtown Meriden and applied that. We also snuck in a silhouette of a typewriter (remember those?).

This background was designed to fit in at least 72% of browsers.

Record-Journal & Myrecordjournal.com facebook & twitter logo and background design

We have a new employee at the Record-Journal (New Media Specialist, Mr. Alex Martin).  He brings to us some fresh ideas and some fire to inject into our online projects.  I am excited for this.  The company is getting aggressive in social networking with our readers.

Upon our first meeting we talked about redoing some of the basic designs for our twitter page (http://twitter.com/#!/Record_Journal)… I am going to chat about the process and post some of the designs.  Stay tuned.

We are also going to rework our facebook and  twitter logo to be uniform.  This logo will also need to translate to our print products as well.

Fiores Restaurant in Plainville, CT – website

By | WEB | No Comments

My latest web project was a simple website design for Fiore’s IV Restaurant in Plainville, CT.  The link can be seen here:  http://www.fioresplainville.com/

I worked closely with the owner Admir on a simple design to represent how he wanted to portray the restaurant and the food they serve.

I had the good fortune of Shaun Langdon’s photo and set up skills.  He and his wifes work can be found at: http://www.jenniferlangdonphotography.com/

If you haven’t tried their food yet… it comes highly recommended from several sources!

Photo Shoot

Spent an hour last night with my friend and photographer Shaun Langdon shooting a location and some food shots. These will be integrated into a website that I am building for a fabulous restaurant in Plainville, CT. www.fioresplainville.com

Basically my role was to hold a giant Frisbee looking thing in front of a flash, on a tripod.   I let Shaun do his thing.  The pics came out great.  Looking forward to working them into the site.

These pics were taken with my iPhone 3G (which is why they are terrible!).
